Digital Painting

Another online job that I am doing now is a digital painting of inspirational images for the project of Ms. Carole Galassi of United States via odesk.com. I remember when I was in grade school,  I  used to draw some kind of this images as a practice in learning how to make a portrait  and putting shades and highlights in my drawing. Now, I am doing it to earn money and the best is me and my client are in opposite sides of the world and we only meet in the world wide web. That's what I like in doing online jobs as a freelancer, I can do my hobby in the comfort of my room and earn with it.

The Witch - It's Halloween!

It's Halloween  once again. The image above was my previous job I get in odesk.com. The task was, they send a photo of that witch in a low resolution jpeg file and I need to redraw it in photoshop using a tablet in a high resolution so that they can print it out in life size.

And since Halloween is just a few days away, let me give you some background about this event.

Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of its original title "All Hallows' Evening"), also known as All Hallows' Eve, is a yearly holiday observed around the world on October 31, the eve before the Western Christian feast of All Hallows. According to some scholars, All Hallows' Eve initially incorporated traditions from pagan harvest festivals and festivals honoring the dead, particularly the Celtic Samhain; other scholars maintain that the feast originated entirely independently of Samhain.

Online Jobs

In recent months, I have entered the world of  online jobs. For me it is a challenging job, you can also consider it as a business because you are the one whose in charge in looking for the project, then you will bid for the price and the turn around time to finish it. You will communicate with the employer if he/she has a question to ask and present the necessary requirements for them to decide why you are the right person that fits for the job.

Of course the income is not fix but it depends on you if you want to earn more, then you must put more time for this business. As of now, I am doing this for a part time basis. I have a full time job but I need some extra income and the main reason I get into this is because of passion. I love artworks and every time people appreciate my work, I felt blessed and it gives me joy and fulfillment. I want to show the world the gift that God gave me. I am very thankful for this gift I receive from God, that's why I am using it over and over with all my heart, my soul, and my strength.

These images are from the works I have done in my project "vector illustrations form a movie scene",it is still on going and will last for months or years depending on my employer at http://www.freelancer.ph/affiliates/yolid/ . There are lots of job you can find there, from design and multimedia, writing, product sourcing, business, accounting, sales and marketing and more. Just click on the link and create your profile and you can start looking for a job that you want. You can even hire a freelancer if you have business or other works you want to outsource.

PAPA SMURF

PAPA SMURF
(vector illustration)

The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs) is a Belgian comic and television franchise centered on a group of small blue fictional creatures called Smurfs, created and first introduced as a series of comic strips by the Belgian cartoonist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) on October 23, 1958. In total, there are 101 'Smurfs', whose names are based on adjectives that emphasize their characteristics, e.g. 'Jokey Smurf', who likes to play practical jokes on his fellow smurfs, 'Clumsy Smurf', who has a habit of creating havoc unintentionally, and 'Smurfette' -- the only female member of the Smurfs.

COMIC BOOK CHARACTER

This is my attempt to create my own heroine. I still don’t know what’s her name, what’s the story behind her, even her special power or should I say abilities. I just draw her and that’s it, I don’t know what will I do with her next........ (LOL)…..Maybe it’s just one of my frustrations….

Honestly, I find it difficult to create a comic book character, although I love watching cartoons since my childhood. In fact, I wish I could work as an artist for Walt Disney or DC comics or Marvel comics. Maybe I am not focusing on learning how to do it, that’s why my dream of being a comic book character or anime artist is still just a dream up to this day…

ZUMA

Zuma is a Filipino comic book character created by Jim Fernandez that has a two headed snake (one head on both ends) that rests on his shoulders. As told in the Comics, Zuma was a demigod, and the son of the Aztec serpent god Kukulkan ("Plumed Serpent", "Feathered Serpent"). He had been entombed in a buried Aztec pyramid until he was unearthed by an archaeological expedition team. Unleashed into the modern world, Zuma went on a murderous rampage.

Zuma first appeared in the comic series Aztec. The character reached the peak of his popularity in the 1980s with the series Anak ni Zuma (Child of Zuma or Children of Zuma) in Aliwan Komiks. It spawned a spin-off prequel Angkan ni Zuma (Clan of Zuma), chronicling Zuma's adventures in ancient times. Zuma-Maria was a science-fiction tale about his future descendant. In the mid-1990s, Zuma was revived in a short-lived comic book series all his own, Zuma Komiks (Zuma Comics).

There have only been two Philippine Zuma movies to date, Zuma and Anak ni Zuma, both starring actor Max Laurel in the title role. Snooky Serna played Galema, Zuma's daughter, in the first film only; the role was played in the sequel by a lesser-known actress named Jenny Lyn. Max Laurel appeared in other films, but primarily as a character actor.

CARICATURE OF BARACK OBAMA

After a series of vacation on posting for this blog, finally I find time again to do digital arts for this blog, and now I can say that I am in the next level in terms of quality of my works.

Let us start with the caricature of United States President Barack Obama. Here I will not go into details of life of the person in my artwork, I want to focus on the image and just a plain name and position or some information needed but not necessary.
