I thought that if I have a blog then doing some caricatures and artworks will not be a waste of time for me but a part of my daily or weekly routine as well. As you know, it is not that easy to make an artwork because you must find a way on how to catch an attention of a person.

JESUS CHRIST

Praying at Getsemani Garden

This was one of my favorite image of Jesus Christ, so when I saw a postcard with this image at the National Bookstore, I don't hesitate to grab a copy of it, that was more than 15yrs ago.

Way back in April of 1996,after my graduation in college, I prepared a canvass of 24" x 36" size and started to sketch the image on it. It was my very first time to paint on that big size using acrylic paint. I usually draw on a illustration board using water color. I was not so happy and discontented in my first attempt so I decided to reverse the canvass and start a new. Everything was going smoothly then, but after I finished sketching the image of Jesus Christ, an opportunity to work as a draftsman comes on my way. My canvass was stocked and almost forgotten for more than a year.

When I was about to marry my wife in December of 1997, I thought  that I must finished my painting first before the big day of my life so that I will have a remembrance when I was still a bachelor. Unfortunately, I was got busy for the event and my canvass once again got stocked with the face of Jesus only painted.

On September of 1999, me and my wife was invited to attend a 3 day spiritual enlightenment seminar which is called PREX o Parish Renewal Experience. After we finished the seminar, our batch was the next group to prepare and organize the next seminar. While I was entering our stock room to get some of my art tools, my 3 year old canvass caught my attention. I told myself that maybe Jesus want me to finished this painting and used it on the seminar. So I immediately took the canvass and after 3 days, I have finished the painting and the organizers of the said seminar allowed to use my painting and put it on the center of the stage for the 2 day seminar.

Right now, this painting was still in good condition and displayed in my parents house. I hope that it still last and will take care of my grand grand children.

A Simple Message

A scene flashed in my mind and there I found myself spending so much time in front of my computer and browsing the internet while my relationship with Him always left behind. I always rely on the net to look for the answers in my questions and anything that I want to know. And even though the results was there, it always ends up with worries for my future, doubt with my plans that I want to do and so on.
